One of the new and emerging activities that have caught our attention at PIONA Engineering SA is consultancy and design in the field of Energetic Building Sustainability.

This specialization makes us able to develop E.B.S. projects to make the environments in which we live completely free of strong artificial and natural electromagnetic interference using our innovative computerized protocols for environmental quality analysis.

 

E.B.S. ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE

We spend at least a third of our lives confined to a room where we sleep, and an office where we work. This is why PIONA Engineering SA has chosen to specialize in “Indoor Quality and Biocompatibility”.

In 1984, the World Health Organization O.M.S. reported that more than 30% of newly constructed buildings could cause acute illness on individuals residing there for long periods of time (see WHO sources on “Sick Building Syndrome”).

PIONA Engineering SA offers the possibility to combine the design of eco-sustainable technological plants with state-of-the-art solutions aimed at energy savings and comfort together with a exclusive preventive project for E.B.S. monitoring & optimization of all natural and artificial electromagnetic sources within the home-office system.

Currently, a lack of optimization of energy sources within an environment is often linked to inefficient space management at the expense of the people who occupy it. Depending on the case, space management can either support our mental, physical and creative state of mind and enhance well-being, or reduce efficiency and weaken our state of mind over time (WHO).

PIONA Engineering SA is the first Swiss firm to offer the “RARE PLACE” certification, and our own E.B.S protocol has become one of the most innovative partnership research projects to date.

E.B.S. is an innovative field of “Building Science” (B.S.) and has been considered an emerging science since the late 2000s. It aims at the widespread diffusion of artificial electromagnetic waves in order to integrate “technology” and “well-being”.

The engineer PIONA is also co-founder of the first Swiss Institute for Energetic Building Sustainability “E.B.S.I.”.

 

We give the highest importance to quality and prevention (WHO preventive model) in the study of environmental pollution levels and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) from the early stages of the design phase.

Each environmental monitoring and optimization “E.B.S.” project presupposes the implementation of a preliminary E.B.S.I.- PIONA Engineering SA protocol, which is followed with great precision and attention by our technicians.

The survey analyzes all types of natural and artificial electromagnetic fields operating on the structure, both ionizing and non-ionizing, and processes them with a computer program that simulates the features that would characterize the same environment once rendered “E.B.S.”

PIONA Engineering SA is the first design studio able to offer a targeted project of E.B.S. intervention and rehabilitation developed on the basis of the energy features of the building and the needs defined by our customers’ “lifestyles” or by a specific working environment.

 

 

E.B.S. engineering design makes it possible to:

  • Perfectly measure all electromagnetic sources, both internal and external, in order to produce a design that complies with the world’s most stringent guidelines;
  • Systematically measure and design environments free from electromagnetic interference (“EMI free”) with particular attention to sensitive areas (rooms, offices, etc.). This involves a truly innovative optimization of all technical systems and not only on individual computers, but also as protection for dedicated servers, routers, gateways, etc., and in general any electronic equipment, where high protection from disturbing impulsive noise, surges and network harmonics is required;
  • Evaluate air and water-ionization levels to obtain the highest quality gradient directly perceivable by people;
  • Check for the presence of any geo-magnetic imbalances or Radon Gas in the most important spaces in order to implement any necessary preventive procedures of elimination-shielding in the design;
  • Develop an intervention protocol with Smart Energy Technology to certify new “E.B.S.” buildings;
  • Monitor and guarantee the quality levels achieved over time using only technologies with zero environmental impact.
